RSL 1-1 Colorado
Well, even though I was not at the game, this has to be number one on this years list, and I think that it is possibly number 1 in the history of Real games. Now, this was not the best game that RSL played, but it is one of the few games that sticks into my memory.
First of all, the instances surrounding the game were huge. RSL needed only a tie, and they were in the playoffs for the first time in their history. Colorado needed a win in order to make the playoffs. As if that wasn't enough, the Rocky Mountain Cup was also on the line.
We went over to our friends house, Tim and Nikki, in order to watch the game. It was great watching it with other people.
RSL played very poorly. You could tell that they were pretty much playing for a tie throughout the game. Colorado scored in about the 25th minute, a Conner Casey goal, that put Colorado ahead 1-0. Well, we all thought, there is still plenty of time left to go.
Well, the time kept ticking away, and the dream of making the playoffs were slipping. I could not believe it. We were so close this year to making it. Well, after some good play by RSL, Yura Movsisyan scored a goal in the 90th minute, and that send the whole room into chaos. I was screaming and jumping up and down. I couldn't sit for the last 4 minutes of stoppage time, and when the final whistle blew, I could not believe it. We were in the playoffs! What a great game, with a great finish.
Well, lets hope that 2009 brings us some great RSL games, and lets continue or winning ways. See you on Saturday.
